Location

Arabianranta is located on the beach of the Vanhakaupunki district, the area where Helsinki was originally founded. Arabianranta is on the ‘Kantakaupunki’ central peninsula of Helsinki, and is only 10 minutes from downtown Helsinki. Routes for light traffic and particularly good and interesting cycling routes are being planned in the beach park and in the direction of downtown.

Easy public transport to Arabianranta

Excellent public transport services to Arabianranta are already available. From the city centre, you can catch a tram or bus to Arabianranta, with services every 3 – 4 minutes during rush hour. Services are frequent, with tram no. 6 serving the area from the morning until the evening, seven days a week, every 8 – 10 minutes. A bus service to Sörnäinen metro station provides a quick transfer to bus and metro services to all of eastern Helsinki.

Bus service no. 52, which runs on an east-west route across Helsinki and terminates in Arabianranta, provides a direct connection to the Arabia district from the districts of Haaga, Maunula and Oulunkylä. Every 15 minutes during rush hour, bus service no. 503 to the city of Espoo provides a direct connection to Arabia from the Pasila and Munkkiniemi districts of Helsinki and the Matinkylä district of Espoo.

The building of a tram line right into the heart of Arabianranta in front of Portaali was begun in 2000 and was finished in August 2004. A completely new dimension was brought into the public transport services by the Bussi-Jokeri east-west service which began operating in 2003.
